Costas:

The Cathedral of Grevena looks like it would be a nice to visit during this time -- a sacred site - ancient ground.

There are different religious traditions practiced in different parts of the world during Good Friday. On Good Fridays churches in our country are all closed and a very long procession reenacting the burial of the Christ is held.

Beautiful and filled with the spirit of the day, Costas. There is something powerful about the amber pall that hangs over it all. Thank you for sharing.

I love the way the flowers are used. Beautiful photos - I guess nobody minds if you take pictures during the ceremony? I was recently in Westminster Abbey during a service, and the absolutely didn't allow photography even before or after the actual service if you were inside as an attendee!

..Sheryl, After the indoors service.. every one got out for the litany..
I took these photographs as the procession was getting out of the church..
No one minds taking photographs outside..

These are amazing photos and I just wanted to ask the same thing; how could you take them? I saw your answer to Tapirgal in the meantime.

Years ago I had the privilege to attend Good Friday services at the Greek Orthodox Church here in Birmingham AL with my dear Greek friends. I'll never forget it.
