Time to leave Alcatraz. The least I can say about the place is that it felt depressing.
Sylvia made a comment on my previous post on the island, and now looking at the photographs I took of San Francisco, the bridges and the skies on the way back I can only agree with her. You can check yourself how everything looked on the way back.

Sylvia έγραψε ένα σχετικό σχόλιο στην προηγούμενη ανάρτησή μου για το πως τα πράγματα φαινόντουσαν πιο όμορφα όταν φεύγει κανείς από το νησί. Δεν τό είχα προσέξει να σας πω την αλήθεια. Αλλά τώρα βλέποντας τις φωτογραφίες του Σαν Φραντσίσκο, των γεφυρών και του ουρανού, δεν μπορώ παρά να συμφωνήσω με όσα γράφει. Δέστε και μόνοι σας και συγκρίνετε τις φωτογραφίες που τράβηξα στην επιστροφή.

Oh, what superb captures of the city of SF! That's where the real beauty is! Another marvelous post that has helped my see parts of my country through your eyes and it's given me a new appreciation! Here's wishing you a beautiful weekend, Costas!

I hope it looks depressing ... it's a prison! :D The depressing-ness of it goes hand in hand with all that legend surrounding Alcatraz. It's iconic for us Americans.
I can't get over that bridge in your header photo, Costas. That picture is FANTASTIC. Would you be willing to let me frame it for my office?

I feel really honored when you say you like it so much.
I am afraid though that as the photograph has my logo on it.. it might be no good for framing. And that is the size to can use when you copy it.

Never been to the island, but would love to get out there sometime. What a history!
I always looked for signs of Great White sharks in the bay while going back each time.
(You are so generous to offer your original take to Allison. She's a dear and I know she would SO enjoy looking at that gorgeous photo every day!)
I do love the photos looking back across the bay to the city - especially the one with the thick row of white clouds just above the city skyline, then blue sky above that. :)
Never been to Alcatraz or SF, but your shots are fantastic.
