Of the three buildings and institutions lying together along Panepistimiou street in Athens, I like most that of the Academy. The building was designed by the Danish architect Theophil Hansen (1813-1891) and is considered the most beautiful neoclassical building worldwide. You can read more about the building and the Academy at the link above. You must understand why I felt "trigger happy" when I stood with my camera in front of the building. As you are facing it, you can see on the left Plato sitting next to the steps, and Athena on the column above him and Socrates on the right with Apolllo above. I could not stop taking photographs from every angle.

Από τα τρία κτίρια που βρίσκονται στη σειρά στην οδό Πανεπίστημίου, εκείνο που με συναρπάζει πιο πολύ είναι της Ακαδημίας. Όταν βρεθείς μπροστά του με την φωτογραφική μηχανή, δεν σταματάς να τραβάς φωτογραφίες. Σχεδιάστηκε από τον Δανό αρχιτέκτονα Θεόφιλο Χάνσεν (1813-1891) και θεωρείται σαν το καλύτερο νεοκλασσικό κτίριο διεθνώς.
